SFF raises a large portion of its grant money through a series of student fundraising programs.

Auction

Michigan Law students provide leadership support for their fellow students through contributions to SFF and, in so doing, help foster the sense of community that makes the Law School such a special place to begin a legal career.

The SFF Auction brings the entire law school together to support and encourage students in public interest work. The high-spirited event -- the most widely attended on the law school calendar -- offers an exciting atmosphere and generates tens of thousands of dollars each year.

L-STAR

The Law Student Travel and Accommodations Reimbursement Program (L-STAR) is a national fundraising initiative that runs in conjunction with law school on-campus interviewing (OCI) programs. If a law student stays with family or friends instead of in a hotel during a callback interview, the interviewing law firm(s) agrees to donate $215 to that student's public interest funding organization. Many firms have also agreed to donate $35 for students who are able to forego transportation to and from the airport in the destination city.
