Giving Back to the Community
Chairwoman: Lyzzette "Foz" Bullock.
The University of Michigan BLSA family recognizes the importance of giving back to our communities and
lending a helping hand where needed. This committee plans events and activities throughout the year
aimed at serving the surrounding community. Representative activities include: “trick-or-treat so
kids can eat,” a food drive on Halloween; tutoring and mock trial classes for local youth; and Dores
McCree Day, where high school students spend a day at the law school learning about a career in law.
Interested in Joining the Community Service Committee?
This committee seeks creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals. Responsibilities will
include planning new events, as well as implementing traditional activities. Our goal is to have two
events per semester in addition to any ongoing activities. The time commitment is minimal with an
expected weekly half hour meeting and a few hours during scheduled events.
